The Assaination of Charlie Kirk–A Lesson In Consequences

Proverb 26:17 says “like one who grabs a stray dog by the ears, is he who rushes into a quarrel not their own” This proverb reminds me of the expression “I don’t have a dog in this fight”. This proverb basically means do not interfere in a fight that is not your own; unless you are looking for trouble or negative consequences. That’s what I see when I see brothers and sisters ranting and raving, cheering and applauding the assasination of Charlie Kirk. I am strategically and to a degree spiritually indifferent to Charlie Kirk’s message. It’s sad that he was assasinated. But I assume that every Gentile has the spirit of Charlie Kirk, unless they have been born-again. So I believe it would have been better for out people to just say, “We reap what we sow.” Or say that “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks”. And then just let it go at that and be silent. It is sad that a person leaves this earth with that kind of hatred and bitterness in their heart. For we will all be judged by our words and our actions.

I have read of people being fired, demoted, expelled from school and even arrested for castigating Charlie Kirk. I see others cheering his demise and downfall as if they were at some football or basketball rally. Why? What kind of spirit is that? If people made light of the MessiYAH’s death or even the deaths of men like Malcolm X or Dr. Martin Luther king, how would those same people feel or react? There were in fact people who cheered the deaths of the people I just mentioned. But whether it was Charlie Kirk, the MessiYAH, Malcolm X or Dr. King, it is the same spirit in each case. A spirit that wars against YAH.

Proverbs 24:17-18 says “Do not rejoice when your enemy falls; And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; 18 Lest YAH see it, and it displease Him, And He turn away His wrath from him”. So we are not to gloat when death or adversity strikes our enemies. In fact, if we do, YAH may relent from destroying our enemies. Because YAH says He allows His sun to shine on the just and unjust; and He will repay the wicked.

I have even heard people who say they believe in the Scriptures say they wish somebody would kill President Trump. Now think about that for a meditative moment. They wish that someone would murder another person (and a leader no less). I don’t care for Mr. Trump’s ways and policies but I don’t pray for his murder. The MessiYAH said that if we even think to do evil it is as if we actually committed the sin. For example, Matthew 5:28 says, “But I say to you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. This passage explains that lustful thoughts and intentions are considered a sin in the same way as the physical act of adultery, emphasizing that sin begins in the heart, not just in action.”

So those who say they wish this President dead are no different that murderers themselves. And guess what? These folks are not reading their Scriputes very well because YAH says that He chooses our leaders:

Romans 13:1-7

“13 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from YAH, and the authorities that exist are appointed by YAH. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of YAH, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. 4 For he is YAH’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is YAH’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. 5 Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are YAH’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.”

Now appointment and approval are two different things. Just because YAH chooses and appoints a leader doesn’t mean that He approves or condones the leader’s action. Some leaders are chosen to bless a nation while others may be chosen for the humbling and judgement of a nation. Think about Pharoah and about King Cyrus as examples.

So the conclusion of the whole matter for me is that whatever Charlie Kirk was or wasn’t in this life is now before YAH. Just as when we leave this life our deeds will be laid bare before YAH on that great day of Judgement. The thing I have learned over the years is that when big events happen try to be silent first. Think and observe, and then reflect on the matter. Then if necessary discuss and deliberate with others who you think are wise. But season everything with wisdom and understanding. Lastly, I have learned that it is okay to say that I don’t know the answer. It doesn’t make me less of a man to say I don’t know. That’s better than saying something rash that I may later regret.
